VANCOUVER RESIDENCE 6
A new, 2,500 square foot open concept home has exposed Douglas Fir timber beams cantilevering well beyond the front and back of the house. The spaciousness of the residence ensures natural light is captured through expansive glass doors and windows. However, the extensive glazing on the back of the house presented a challenge for the earthquake resistance. This issue was addressed using a cantilever steel column hidden in the exterior wall. This contemporary home also features beautiful outdoor gardens at the front and rear of the house.
