TIMMS COMMUNITY CENTRE
Designed in collaboration with HCMA Architecture + Design and DGS Construction, this 65,000 square foot facility ties seamlessly to the existing Langley City Hall and City of Langley Library. Entering the facility quickly leads you into a large gathering foyer that floods with natural light which intensifies the soft glow of the glulam beams and columns. The balance of the structure is framed with long-span structural steel elements to allow for flexibility for future programming and to ensure for a lighter structure to accommodate the poor soil conditions. Underground parking is provided across the entire new facility.
The Centre serves many programs which utilize a new full-size gym with a suspended second floor running track perched around the periphery of the gym. There are community spaces, fitness rooms and even a games room that comes complete with pool tables, ping pong, air hockey and foosball.
