P.EngKurt’s favourite aspect of WHM is its diversity. Not just culturally, but in terms of skills that members bring to the table. Off the clock, he enjoys playing basketball, practicing Brazilian ju-jitsu, and exploring BC with his wife Jannelle and daughter Luna. “Vancouver is one of the only cities where you can ski, golf and kayak on the same day, and while I have yet to do all three, I’m glad I have the option!”

EITA previous co-op intern, Stephen returns to join the WHM team as he pursues his P.Eng. “It’s a very collaborative atmosphere, and everyone is always open to provide insights,” he says. Born and raised in BC, Stephen enjoys the province's climate despite the excessive rain. He also appreciates that there are great sports venues like Rogers Arena and BC Place here. When not working, Stephen likes to hit the gym, listen to music, and go camping and fishing.

EITJordan’s favourite thing about working at WHM is its open-door policy, which he says promotes more effective communication and project management, opportunities to learn from one another, and of course — fun! Outside of the office, Jordan is a figure-skating coach, and also enjoys running, cycling and cooking. Unlike many, he loves ALL aspects of the Vancouver weather. “That includes the rain,” he says. “I lived in California for a year and cannot tolerate the heat!”

Monica’s favourite aspect about WHM is the supportive atmosphere and that people celebrate personal and professional victories. “I’m lucky enough to call my colleagues friends, and that’s a big reason why coming to work is always enjoyable,” she says. A self-confessed ‘gym rat’ and hiker who hits the trails and works out whenever possible with her partner, she also enjoys slowing it down and sitting by the ocean for a coffee with her dog and daughter.
